We are happy to announce our newest addition, Arms Length, on our Potts Point Tour.

The latest arrival in the hood, formerly of Redfern, the Armslength crew has jumped the Oxford Street border to be part of the constantly evolving Kings Cross Quarter drinking & dining scene. The restaurant - which opened in August on Kellett Street, now occupies the space once home to the iconic Dean’s Cafe, where many Sydneysiders experienced their first dish of nachos back in the day.

The new operators have maintained the beautiful fig tree shaded courtyard in the front of the grand terrace facade, with ambient fairy lights setting the tone, and the comfy NYC leather booths lining the hall to the sexy back bar. We have already enjoyed a few early evening drinks and snacks on our way home and are looking forward to more on warm summer evenings.

“We’re drawn to this location because of its diverse demographics, the charming residential neighborhood of Potts Point, the weekend visitors, and the vibrant LGBTQ community,”

— Rebecca O'Shea

There is some serious food talent in the kitchen with chefs Keno Perlas, formerly of Monopole and Margaret and Jeffrey Sue, formerly of Ormeggio and Rockpool, who have crafted a dinner menu with a strong Italian influence. The dinner offerings at Arms Length feature dishes like calamari fritti and rigatoni with ragu, which co-owner Rebecca O’Shea describes as "Australian with an Italian influence."

O’Shea explains that the recent openings of venues like The Hook and Vermuteria played a role in their decision to move to the area. "We’re drawn to this location because of its diverse demographics, the charming residential neighborhood of Potts Point, the weekend visitors, and the vibrant LGBTQ community," she says.
